“Why Love One?” Cross-Canada Transit Ad Campaign

In May and June, Mercy For Animals Canada in collaboration with a few local groups across the country, will be running a Canada-wide, “Why love one but eat the other?” transit ad campaign like the one that took Toronto by storm last year!

The series of three ads will run on the transit systems in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax.

Our local partners for this campaign are the Vancouver Humane Society, Liberation BC, and Earthsave Canada in Vancouver, the National Capital Vegetarian Association in Ottawa, and the Montreal Vegetarian Association.

You can support this campaign by inviting others from across Canada to spread the word: ask them to take photos of you with the ads and to share the photos and details of the campaign via social media. This provocative ad campaign is designed to get people thinking about their food choices in relation to animal suffering. The ad series draws attention to the similarities between the animals we call “family” and the animals we call “food” and lays bare the shocking reality faced by animals raised for food on Canada’s factory farms.

The ads reached yet more people in a video about the campaign that garnered over 66,000 hits on YouTube.
