Second Annual NYC Vegetarian Food Festival Draws Colossal Crowds

Thousands of New Yorkers got a taste of the vegan lifestyle at the Second Annual NYC Vegetarian Food Festival. The two-day event featured dozens of vegan food vendors, including V-Spot, Vegan Bodega, and The Regal Vegan, and non-profit organizations from across the country, including Mercy For Animals.

MFA proudly sponsored the festival’s Mercy For Animals stage, where highly acclaimed speakers, such as NutritionFacts.org‘s Dr. Michael Greger, vegan athlete Brendan Brazier and best-selling author Victoria Moran, gave inspiring presentations on vegan health, fitness, and making a difference for animals.

Mercy For Animals hosted a large educational booth, as well as a “Paid-Per-View” station, where over 300 non-vegetarian festival-goers were paid $1 to watch 4 minutes of MFA’s hard-hitting documentary Farm to Fridge. After watching, several heart-broken viewers spent their dollars buying Farm to Fridge DVDs to share the moving footage with friends and loved ones.
