MFA Responds to Dairy Industry’s New ‘Milk Life’ Campaign

The milk industry is retiring the infamous “Got Milk?” campaign in an effort to improve its worn-down, animal-abusing image.

An article in yesterday’s “Time” magazine reports that although the old ad campaign was incredibly popular at its inception, “milk sales overall have been on a steady national decline for decades.” In fact, “Per-capita consumption of fluid milk and cream fell by 25 percent from 1975 to 2012, according to the USDA,” the article states.

In its place? “Milk Life.” This newly debuted ad campaign aims to promote cow’s milk, but instead should serve as a reminder that the dairy industry milks the life out of cows. Check out MFA’s new (much more truthful) version of the “Milk Life” campaign:

Numerous undercover investigations conducted by MFA have shown a pattern of routine abuse and neglect at dairy farms around the country.

Today’s dairy cows are kept in cramped, filthy conditions and suffer routine mutilations, lack of veterinary care, and merciless slaughter. What better way to take a stand against animal abuse than by ditching dairy?
