Fish Oil Linked to Prostate Cancer

Fish oil could be harmful to your health. According to a startling new study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, scientists have discovered that men who consume the most fish oil have up to a 71 percent higher risk of high-grade prostate cancer, the kind most likely to spread and kill.

The study also warned that consuming too much fish in general may pose the same health hazards for men.

Although fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, those same nutrients can be found in plant-based sources such as walnuts and flax seeds. When researchers studied men who consumed plant-derived omega-3s, they found no increased risk of prostate cancer.

The best way to safeguard yourself from unnecessary health risks and to take a stand against egregious animal cruelty is to leave animals off your plate. For information on transitioning to a delicious vegan diet, visit ChooseVeg.com.
